A lemon drop martini is a wonderful drink. It is just one of the many versions of the great martini drink, which originated in San Francisco in the year 1860 by a bartender known as Jerry Thomas while working in Occidental Hotel. The drink is said to be derived from the nearby town of Martinez.

One of the method to make a lemon drop martini is to combine 1 ½ ounces of vodka, ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice, ½ triple sec and one teaspoon of fine sugar in a cocktail shaker with ice. It is necessary to use superfine sugar since it dissolves quickly. Shake the mixture carefully and get a clear martini glass. Trace the glass rim with fresh lemon wedge, dip the rim in superfine sugar, pour the mixture of the lemon drop into the martini glass, and garnish with lemon.

Although a lemon drop martini is considered a lady’s drink, this recipe could be quiet potent and could cause the lady to drop into unconsciousness if taken at large quantities. The best way to serve a lemon drop martini is to serve it as cold as possible.
