A vodka martini is a cocktail that is created through mixing dry vermouth, ice and vodka in a mixing glass or shaker. These ingredients are chilled by stirring and shaking and then strained and served using a cocktail glass. You may garnish the drink with a strip of lemon, olive, capers or onions.

The vodka is one of the common variations of the Martini drink, but the most controversial among Martini fanatics. In the late twentieth century, the vodka eclipsed the popularity of the traditional martini in North America. Indeed, it is a delicious and sophisticated drink.

Make a Vodka martini today by using ingredients such as 1 ½ oz. vodka, ¾ oz. dry vermouth, ice, martini glass, cocktail shaker and olives for garnish. Make the drink by filling a cocktail shaker halfway with ice, add vodka and dry vermouth. Gently shake and swirl round to chill the alcohol. Carefully strain into a chilled martini glass, add olive for garnish or you could add more to taste, serve and enjoy.

The fictional Ian Fleming detective James bond made the vodka martin very famous. The drink is often features in most James Bond movies. However, in the movies, he preferred the drink dry, thus the surge of the popularity of this cocktail drink.
