The pear martini is a type of cocktail that is typically made of pear-flavored vodka, par juice and various other sweeteners and mixers. The drink is often served in a martini glass that is usually with a sugared rim or a slice of pear for garnish. Pear martini is considered a designer martini variation. The ingredients of the drink could vary, sometimes incorporating lime flavors and orange in addition to the pear.

Aside from the name and the method of serving, the drink has little in common with the traditional martini because typically, martinis are made with gin and dry vermouth. A martini contains five parts gin and one part vermouth in a shaker with ice, shaken vigorously and then served straight up in a martini glass that is chilled and olive for garnish.

In the pear martini, the drink is vodka based and is designed to be sweet. While you could add vermouth to the drink, this is not a common combination. Often, the pear martini calls for an addition of triple sec and orange-flavored liquor. Also usual additions are pear juice and lime juice. Just like all martini drink variations, you will surely love this drink on your parties and get-togethers with friends and family.
