Summer is in the air and with that you could not help but try out something new to grill during a hot summer night. Most people take less time to grill than it takes to watch coals turn white. There are thousands of summer grilling recipes to choose from. Below is one great summer recipe you should try this summer.

This recipe is the Grilled Sausage with Caramelized onions and apples. Ingredients for this recipe include 2 tbsp. butter, eight sausages, 3 big apples that are cored, peeled and cut to thin wedges, 2 medium sliced onions, 2 tbsp. apple cider or red wine vinegar, salt and pepper to taste and 2 tbsp. brown sugar, packed.

Prepare the grill for high heat. With the use of a fork, poke sausages a couple of times, place in pot, cover with water and simmer over medium heat for about seven minutes or until cooked. Remove and set aside. Warm butter in a skillet over medium heat, stir onions and cook until they turn translucent and soft. Stir in vinegar, apples and brown sugar. Cook while stirring gently until they are caramelized, from ten to fifteen minutes. Season with pepper and salt. Place sausages on grill and cook until they turn brown. Serve on a mound of caramelized onions and apples.
