Vodka martini is a drink composed of vodka, vermouth, and is one of the many martini variations. This cocktail became extremely popular in the mid to late twentieth century. Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels and movies were hugely responsible for the popularity of vodka martinis. For example, in the first Bond novel Casino Royale, the 007 detective orders a vodka martini and requests it to be shaken. Other scenes also have Sean Connery dressed in evening clothes and enjoying a vodka martini. These scenes were enough to inspire wannabes throughout the world and the drink has been very successful ever since.

While some purists continue to object it called as a martini and claim it to be tasteless, a lot of people when they order a martini drink often mean one that’s made with vodka. Here is a Vodka martini recipe you might want to consider if you want to enjoy a cool drink.

Ingredients for this recipe include 1 ½ shots vodka and ¾ shot dry vermouth. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, place vodka and vermouth and shake well. Strain the mixture in a martini glass and garnish with an olive. There are plenty of vodka martini recipes you can check out on the web.
